The laundry renovation came about in two stages!

For the quick fix we didnt do too much at all. We cleared out an old cupboard and hung a few IKEA wall units . As a result of the quick fix, the laundry looked so much better. In addition, we bought ouselves some time until we could convert the laundry into a second bathroom.

Quick reno

We left the bottom row of units without doors to make it easy to access to washing powder, etc.

Time for a bigger renovation

To start with, the laundry was a nice sized room with a separate toilet off to the side. We wanted to make the room bigger, therefore we decided to knock down the wall between the laundry and toilet. We removed the door and windows and as a result we had the space to install the new windows from Perth Window and Door Replacement Company.

Plumbing preparation

We removed the sink unit and with the help a plumber prepped the walls and floor for the new layout.

Builders preparation

The builders knocked down the toilet wall and in addition removed the door and windows. We had help from the builders at Perth Wall Removal for the demolition and brickwork. The builders protected the floor with Ramboard – this is a must if you don’t intend laying a new floor.

Ready for the new windows

The room still looks like a building site however, you can see the new room starting to take shape. We left a hole in the wall for The Dog to access the back garden! A view from the outside showing the new bricks.

Renovated laundry/shower room

All done and we are really happy with how it turned out.

We didnt want to lift the existing floor tiles to save mess, money and effort. We were fortunate to have a few matching spares and we used those to fill in the gap left by the demolished toilet wall.
